Two more finished

I have made 2 more finishes this week. That means that my unfinished tops pile is getting smaller. I still have 3 more to get quilted, but two in one week is good for me. Plus I only have a backing for one of them, but not the thread to quilt it.
Rainbow Chevron
This quilt was made with fabric from a swap I did with a quilting group I am a part of. We each had a color to buy 6 different fabrics in that color. This is the second year we have done the rainbow and I just love it! I like doing swaps because I end up with fabric that I wouldn't ever pick out myself.

Close up of the quilting
I had a lot of fun quilting this one. I have been working a lot on my free motion quilting a lot here lately.

I love this binding!
My second finish was a low volume quilt. I have never done anything like this, but again I did a swap with a few of the quilting girls and it was fun. This one is just made up of the scraps I had left of the fabrics I had picked out. I have another top with bigger squares from the swap, but I don't have that one finished yet. Pictures to come soon.

Another fun binding!
I decided to quilt this one a little more basic, but I still like how it turned out. It just wasn't as fun to quilt! :)

Well that's all for now. Hopefully I can get some thread for the one unfinished quilt top I have backing for and get backings for the other two.

Quilty Fun Finished

So I have decided I'm going to try really hard to keep track of all my projects on here. I'm always busy making something, but I have a bad habit of never getting pictures or anything of it. So here is my attempt....we will see what happens.

I just finished up this quilt. It is from Lori Holt's book Quilty Fun. I had a really tough time finishing this one up for some reason. I have had it together for months now, just needed to get it quilted. I usually get that part done really quickly because I love the quilting more than the piecing of a quilt.

(The butterfly row is one of my favorite!)

After spending many hours at my Juki quilting this, I have decided I really should have a longarm. Time to start saving up I think! Another thing I am trying really hard to do is use up my massive amounts of scraps. This project helped quite a bit! I also have one other scrappy top going too.

I also have some knitting projects I have been working on, but I can't share any pics of that yet. It's secret knitting! Now onto quilting my rainbow chevron...pics to come soon. :)
