Charmed Baby Quilts

My charmed baby quilt

My sewing group and I all decided to make baby quilts for our most recent project. We each picked a charm pack and got to work. It was a super easy and quick project, but they all turned out great!

Grandma Nancy, Mom, and Jolene with their quilts
I of course got the job of quilting them all and I did each one differently, which was fun. It amazes me how the same quilt pattern can turn out so differently. This is Jolene's first quilt she has done. I think they all did wonderful and I am honored I am the one teaching and quilting with them!

While looking through my pictures I realized I didn't get a close up of Jolene's quilt to show the quilting. We did a very simple straight stitch in the middle with a small loop and flower design on the border. I have so much fun quilting for these ladies and trying out all new designs too.

A Secret Baby Quilt

My online sewing group has been working on a secret gift for a few months now. Every time one of the girls is pregnant we all make a block and one of us puts it all together. I got the honor of putting this one together and quilting it and I had so much fun with it! The lady it was for, Erin, wasn't finding out the sex of the baby so we decided to do it in teal and gray, seeing as that is gender neutral.

Another Quilty Fun Finish

Here it is! I finally finished my Quilty Fun Sampler! YEAH! The patterns are out of Lori Holt's Quilty Fun book. I have already done the row along, so I chose to do the sampler that was a sew along a while ago on her blog. I loved how there were only a few of each block instead of a whole row. Plus some extras! :) I really do love all of her patterns and love how easily I can follow along her instructions.

I think this bee block is my absolute favorite out of this whole quilt! My family use to own a honey business, so it just goes along with my love for very cute bees very well.

I of course custom quilted the whole thing. It is very densely quilted, but I love all the texture that adds to it!

I went with a pretty wild binding, but with all the different colors in the quilt I think it works.

Now I will keep trucking along on the Farm Vintage blocks we are doing for Farm Girl Fridays out of Lori's new book. I can't wait for that sampler to be put together, but that will be awhile just yet.
